The only real objection to Melania's Be Best is the hypocrisy of her husband being one of the biggest bullies in our country -- especially on social media.

And yes -- none of that should impact Melania Trump's efforts but it is difficult to brush aside the hypocrisy.

A hungry person will eat what is put before them.

Obviously a lot of kids are not all that hungry.

It was a political criticism that shouldn't be defended this many years later.

It was politics. And that's all.

Who is they as in their?

The nearly 14,000 school districts in the US determine recess times in their schools.

If I recall Michelle was all about the “ Let’s Move” thing to get kids off their butts.

Actually they wasted food which could have been used by someone else! Is that a win?

In a 2013 study of four urban Massachusetts, low-income school districts in grades 3-8, researchers from Harvard School of Public Health "found the new policy actually led to a 23 percent increase in fruit selection and a 16.2 percent increase in vegetable consumption."

In 2017, UC-Berkeley researches assessed whether healthier school lunches would lead to an improvement in test scores, and found it did.

"test score increases are a significant 40 percent higher for students who qualify for reduced-price or free school lunches—the ones who are most likely to eat the school lunches."

https://www.newhope.com/regulatory/t...-lunch-program

So despite research demonstrating that students will eat more fruits and vegetables and get higher test scores, Republicans, who have scant regard for science and even less for truth, dumped the program and the students are back to eating carb-packed, high-sodium, low-nutrient lunches.

But back to Ivanka, what is this $100 million to be spent on exactly?

This argument that you can't make kids eat healthy so we should serve them junk food is the absolutely most ridiculous spin that Republicans came up with to fight against healthy school lunches.
The dichotomy is that it is often the same people who advocate for making junk food ineligible for purchase with SNAP are the same people who seem to be vocal about eliminating junk food in public schools, ignoring parents are free to pack as much junk as they want into their kid’s lunch/ snack pack, unless limited by the local school district.

When are Democrats absolutely against Funding initiatives to empower Women?
  • When it comes from Trump.

Their derangement has to be seen to be believed.
