A look at this issue or any major issue and the failure of congress to solve the problems is why they remain problems today. They know how to kick the can down the road and play politics for reelection.
They know how to take and let special interest money decide how they vote. Fortunately we have President Trump who isn't influenced by special interest money.
Congress has given the office of President the power they were unable to manage. Knowing that in an emergency it was better to have one person in charge to prevent endless delays on decisions requiring immediate action. Now they are stuck in wanting to have their cake and eat it too.
Those claiming its a constitutional issue fail to recognize they gave their constitution authority away through legislation and it is through legislation they can fix it.

The consequences for being in this country illegally are not severe. It sure doesn't deter thousands from coming here illegally. Look at the many examples of criminals who have been deported again and again, only to commit more crime.

Majority Whip - John Thune (R)

And then there are the two-faced flip-floppers like Tom Tillis(R-NC) who wrote an OP/ED stating he would oppose Trump's ginned up 'emergency', only to find out he was utterly devoid of the backbone and cojones to live up to his word and kowtowed to the threatener in chief.

One usually goes to prison for a crime. Only in Communism, is it opposing politics.
Who's going to be put in place by a VETO?

I am not a liar, you are only listening to radical extremists on the FAR LEFT. There are other crazy radicals on the FAR RIGHT. The truth is somewhere in the middle.

LOLZ

Problem with that narrative is all you have to do is look at the way Democrat legislators vote, the rhetoric they spew and the bills that they introduce.

Are there some on the Left that feel the way you describe?

Sure.....but there not the ones the party votes for or listens to.

And how many Dems voted to fund the wall or even other physical barriers ?

Got news for you:

The "radicals" you speak of are the ones running your party.

I agree that they never should have ceded this power in the first place. But the intent of Emergency Powers is so Presidents can act quickly, mobilizing resources for an emergency that might take longer for Congress to react. In the case of the wall, it's not like Trump suddenly found there was a crisis, and needs to rush to confront it. It has been debated extensively, and Congress made clear their opposition to funding.

Why was it okay when other presidents did it? Congress doesn't do squat. All they do is criticize the do-ers of the USA...and hold hearings...because they're mostly lawyers and that's what lawyers do. Quit voting for lawyers and maybe something will get done on Capitol Hill.

Must be a day ending in "y."
Republicans have had plenty of voter fraud, so thanks--but Dems cannot claim the mantle for that.

And are you claiming Democrats own all of the farms and all of the golf resorts that hire illegal aliens? That's a good one!

The US president has been caught recently using illegal aliens for labor at his golf clubs. I know he has no inner beliefs, but are you claiming he is now a Dem? Or maybe a RINO is more like it.

A little logic goes a long way.
