And this is the problem. Too few people are willing to excuse and/or make jokes about the president’s threats. There is absolutely nothing funny about his words. They are a very clear attack on our freedom to express dissent without fear of reprisal.

It's fascinating to watch.

While Trump's ramblings do suggest he has some authoritarian tendencies if left to his own devices, he deserves credit for accepting that the House flipped to Democratic control in the midterms. Trump is certainly more concerned with himself than the fortunes of the Republican party in general, but he fully realized having a Democratic House would make the second half of his term very difficult. He was gracious enough to congratulate Pelosi and didn't stand in the way of the new Democratic Congress members taking office. Not exactly a high bar, but at least he reached it.

My guess is if he loses in 2020, he'll complain bitterly, retweet a few conspiracy theories and invent a few more that are barely coherent, declare himself the greatest president ever and fully vacate the White House before noon on Inauguration Day.

It’s not nonsense, Waldo. Trump invoked his control of the military and his support by the police to incite fear among those who question him, including other elected officials. It’s outrageous and completely unacceptable.

You contradict yourself in your own post. Good job.

Here's another "the EC isn't democratic" argument

The EC is democratic precisely because it is part of our Constitution, which is ultimate subject to change/ratification/approval of the people via their elected representatives. The EC isn't some idea forced upon the population by unelected oligarchs.

A Trump win in the next election will likely lead to a continued refusal by the left to acknowledge that he is the duly elected POTUS and they lost. The riots, whining and unhinged behavior will likely continue for another four-years beyond that.

... But then, everyone knows the left is right and that whatever they do to further divide and polarize America and denigrate the POTUS is fully justified by their angst ... don't they??
