I'd prefer they do it on their own time....but if kids feel strongly about something, whether they truly understand the issues or just know the basics, why bash them for standing for something?

Because those children are indoctrinated, that's why.
I'm proud of them for being so aware. Unfortunately, I think it's too little too late. And for that I'm sorry.
Not if they want to prevent the next drought from sinking in as deeply as the one that just lifted. Nature may not be so providential next time as it was this time.
And the geological record shows California has suffered droughts in the past that lasted 200 years.
My teen spent yesterday giving volunteer time and conservation service hours here in NJ. We'll be doing the same thing again next month, and again in June. Protests are a lame excuse for not getting off their butts and doing something concrete for the environment.
I'm no environmentalist but if I were a high schooler I'd skip class and smoke some joints for the environment.
That would be 420 times smarter than the filth spewing from their young misled pieholes.
