I would like to see both ended. Not all at once though, we'd have to wean ourselves off. Start with means testing for SS, people earning over a certain amount don't collect. Followed by a cut off period, where everyone under a certain age is ineligible (contributions would still have to be made, unless another funding source was designated, to take care of the people who had been counting on it and don't have time to make other preparations). 35 or 40 seems good, up to that point you still have time to make arrangements for retirement.

Medicare, I'm not sure what to do with it, but I know I'd like to see an end to some people being forced to pay other people's medical bills.

Where are those authorized in the Constitution if not by the 16th Amendment as a tax.

This statement is quite incorrect.

We certainly had a government and a country LONG BEFORE we had taxes and FICA contributions.

My parents worked hard and paid into the system that was put in place to make certain no one was left behind and they did not mind paying it forward because that is what being an American used to be about before this sociopathic virus spread itself around. They were astute enough to understand that a society fares much better when everyone is raised up and can at least live with some dignity and security.

No, what America used to be before the left's sociopathic behavior was that we had families, and families took care of each other. The left wants to destroy family, destroy religion....scratch that...Christianity, wants to destroy our way of life because they are too stupid to see that their socialism will destroy them, too.

Yes, they are socialistic models, but that doesn't make them bad, or any less useful to us.

Public transportation systems are socialistic, public libraries are too. County hospitals? same.

Many if not most cities have a water department, basically a water company owned by the people of the city, that follows the model.

Here is a list of the many cities and other governments around the country which also own electric companies, and most have done so for many decades, yes, that's right ... a socialistic model in states like Georgia, Texas, Tennessee and Kansas among many others.

Mutual insurance companies (think State Farm or Mutual of Omaha) and Credit Unions follow a socialistic model (think Bailey Building & Loan). Farm Co-ops likewise. We have had a mixed economy since the founding of our country, since before the term was even coined. It has helped to make us strong and prosperous and it has helped to make our nation pleasant, hopeful and rewarding to live in.

Sure. I say it all the time; give me back what was taken from me, with interest, and shut down this Ponzi scheme. Of course, they can't do that, there's not enough money in the system, since that's the entire reality of a Ponzi scheme- what is taken in from current victims is used to pay previous ones so they don't get suspicious and report to the authorities.

The only difference is that by being conducted by the State, these Ponzi masterminds are able to protect themselves from prosecution.

Not practically, but legally it is. The Supreme Court ruled that the government isn't obligated to pay it.

So America was sociopathic before 1965? Before 1932? Before 1916?
