The Decency Act already ignores the Constitution.

The most virulent form of censorship, is self-censorship, where media fears it will be censored.

WE HAVE THE ABILITY TO REMOVE A GOVT FROM POWER, the constitution grants us this, even if by force if necessary, so there is no excuse for NOT taking action.
While i agree with you, sadly no one really cares enough about our country to do anything it. They are quite happy letting the media devide us, right alongside our government.

Well that's weird because, as it turns out, the way it's actually happening is under Trump and a GOP controlled Senate. Not sure how that qualifies as Democrat or leftist.

In 1984, when people got around to reading it again, they said Holy crap, Orwell was warning us about America, and there was an eerie silence, instead of a lot of talk about the book.

President Donald Trump on Monday suggested the US should form a state-run, global news network to counter what he called "unfair" coverage from CNN.

"While CNN doesn't do great in the United States based on ratings, outside of the U.S. they have very little competition," Trump said via Twitter. "Throughout the world, CNN has a powerful voice portraying the United States in an unfair and false way."

The president added, "Something has to be done, including the possibility of the United States starting our own Worldwide Network to show the World the way we really are, GREAT!"

The concept of state-run news outlet is controversial in democratic societies because of its association with authoritarian regimes and propaganda. In countries like North Korea and China, media is strictly controlled and monitored by the government.

Dictator indeed.
He does have one. It's called fox News.

Dictator indeed.

When CNN is free to create biased news networks throughout the world you call it freedom of the press, but when President Trump only suggests creating a news network that counters CNN for the sake of fairness, you call him a dictator.

Shows where you stand on fairness in news coverage.

I hadn't heard about this and to tell you the truth I thought that surely you were exaggerating or just kidding until I read the article.

I guess when you have a base that has only a minimal understanding of recent history, has little or no critical thinking skills, and that is so intellectually lazy that they prefer to let Fox and Trump fill their minds with feel-good fascist propaganda - this is the result.

It is becoming increasingly obvious that we don't want a "government of the people, by the people and for the people". We want a "strong leader" like Putin or Duterte to curb our freedoms and control our minds and hearts.

We deserve what we get in this country.

I think its more of a con job, people are being duped into believing all these 'good things' out govt does, is in their best interest, to protect their health, safety, prosperity, etc.

Drug laws are a great example, Govt and law enforcement tell the public these laws are for their protection, for their health and safety...but thats not true at all in reality.

THIS is all very clever and effective too, they can literally do whatever they want, without the fear of public ever revolting, its the perfect tool to undermine the constitution really.

The maniac is getting more autocratic as time goes on.

God help us if he loses in 2020 and refuses to leave.

His low info drones might have gone all in by then.

All power to the dear leader!

Seig Heil!
