Apparently the parent comments below the video that they were basically forced into the pat down.

I have no problem with the TSA patting down my kids. Social media is causing people to overact to nothing. If a terrorist planted a bomb on child and that same child was allowed to board a plane with the bomb, then what? I would have a problem with a known sex offender patting down my child. People use common sense here, terrorists have children too!

I volunteer in prisons, and the pat down to get in there isn't that extensive. I also witness when visitors come to see their family in prison; the pat downs, again, are not this extensive. You can't smuggle in so much as a cigarette, and they will find it during their visitor pat down - but really?

I think someone needs to video him patting down women and compare that to this pat down of this prepubescent boy. Way, way over the top.

Good ol' Larry the Cable guy - that's his son? Or was he just retweeting that video?

The TSA is an over reaction.

I think this is absolutely outrageous.

I honestly don't know, and can't imagine, why this was done. My husband and I have flown about two or three dozen times since 2001, and we have never been patted down, not even once. Yes, we do not "fit the profile", but neither does this young man. My opinion is that, unless there is some specific reason for a person being checked like this, a random check of, say, one out of 50 passengers, no matter what age or sex or 'ethnicity', should be sufficient.

Seriously, why the feds even permit such searches at times is lame!

Yuck. I couldn't even watch the whole thing. As soon as he restarted his pat down in areas he already patted down, I had enough.

This is what happens when you give up your liberty under the guise of "for your safety".

A child in shorts and a t-shirt does not warrant any of that.

Well did he think he missed that bomb in his armpits and waist band of the boys t-shirt and shorts the first time he dug around in there. Had to go back for a second feel?

This is where those who used to go into priesthood go to get a job now.

That said, this is still ridiculous, you should be able to tell just by looking at this kid that he is not a terrorist.
I don’t have to deal with that. You still have to put your bag thru the scanner like everyone else. Precheck doesn’t prevent you from being pulled aside. Shrug, whatever, I didn’t care less when I got the pat down. But I laugh at all these pearl clutches on here.
