Crazy how radical, extreme NY liberals are rushing to block legislation that would protect babies that the Mississippi governor intends to sign.
Hopefully, lots of governors follow the lead of the very honorable man that runs the state of Mississippi and protect babies.
Hopefully, President Trump can change the judiciary enough so they can overturn some radical legislation.
I am sure the Mississippi governor is doing what the majority of the people of his state want. It would be interesting if they had a poll in the state to see if Mississippi residents agree with the governor they elected or ultra-radical liberal attorneys from NY who have nothing better to do.
I think it is a wonderful law. A physician who performs an abortion after the baby has a fetal heartbeat would lose their license as a consequence.
Once their is a fetal heartbeat, it's a baby which is pure and simple.
If life begins at the moment of conception as most people who are anti-abortion quite passionately insist is true, then why should they settle on a bill that allows abortion until a heartbeat is detected? Aren't the majority of abortions taking place as it is now before a heart beat is detected?

Mississippi should be more focused on their economy and bringing jobs there. I would think that would be their priority.

Lawmakers have a saying here in Oklahoma that goes "if we take care of the morality, God will take care of the economy." I'm sure Mississippi has the same mindset.

If they want to take care of morality, how about they take care of poverty, education, and job training, and substandard housing (Jesus said something about rich men, camels, and eyes of needles). Same thing for sharply reducing corruption, plus the occasional boneheaded (to say the least) remarks about race or anything reasonably interpreted as race. Note well that I said nothing that goes against the Bible. By that standard, even San Francisco is more "Christian" than the Bible Belt - never mind that a huge portion of the population wouldn't consider themselves Christian at all - let alone practicing ones.
The best solution is to let Mississippi do it but tell them they have to pay the costs for all the poverty stricken and often drug addicted mothers and babies.
Women with money will simply go to another state but this will directly increase the size of Mississippi's poorest population. They will need increased welfare, Medicaid, food stamps, Section 8 housing, before and after school child care, reduced lunch programs, more schools with programs to help those kids get clothes, supplies and backpacks and since those children will likely be born without fathers, they will probably need to do something about that such as volunteer programs.
They will also need to create drug addiction programs because many of these babies will go directly from the hospital to foster care.
