Because people should wear clothing to satisfy the aesthetic preferences of others?

I go to the gym every day, wear leggings, and then run errands. The are flattering and functional. I could care less if a guy cops a glance at my butt.

Plenty of jeans are leave little to the imagination, or short shorts, or sun dresses, tube tops, etc.

I hardly see how this can be an issue.

Oh, good grief. Dudes cannot control themselves so women should not wear leggings? If she was my mom and I was a college guy, I'd pretend I didn't know her.

Ah, I thought you meant that you were accused of being boorish. LOL I don't think anyone cares if you're looking at them if you're not being obvious about it, so carry on.

I don't really understand getting worked up over a partner looking at someone else, though. I've occasionally caught my husband's eyes wandering... who cares? He can look at whomever he wants as long as he's not bothering them. And any shapely young lady has the right to wear leggings and walk in front of him/us. He might be looking at her butt, but he's going home with me, after all. If someone is concerned that seeing a nice pair of legs in leggings is going to cause their mate to stray, then they have way bigger fish to fry, either with their self-esteem or a non-trustworthy spouse/partner. It's not the problem of the person wearing leggings.

How does one "think wrongly?"

I mean, is that when they don't think like you or what?

I wonder if Ms. White has been to any Notre Dame games and checked out the cheerleaders and volleyball players. They could use some leggings.

I was speaking in general, so my pic has nothing to do with anything.

Exactly! Reps to you.

So this is the Christian modesty spin on "Look how she was dressed! She was asking for it!", then?

I'm a man. At one point I was a hormone-addled teen and early twenty-something. To suggest that young men can't, somehow, control themselves if an attractive woman is dressed "immodestly" is offensive to both parties.

Now, if you want to argue that leggings aren't appropriate attire for church or whatever other specific occasion, knock yourself out.
