One nice "dream" would be to get the borders closed and keep us as a people and nation safer. Another would be to get the illegals out of the country. And a really NICE dream would be to find a competent and honest individual to be our next President.

I want to encourage everyone to apply the story of the frog in hot water to our freedom. As the old story goes, place a frog into a pot of boiling water and it will jump out, but place a frog into a pot of cool water and then add heat and the frog will simply cook in place.

Look at WWII, we were "engaged" with Nazi U-boats who were killing American sailors in 1940 and early 1941. Yet it took a Pearl Harbor to unite us. In the 1990's, we were attacked at Oklahoma City and WTC, but in our arrogance, we just went back to sleep and 9/11 happened. We can even say we tolerated Iraqi violations of the 1992 treaty which left Saddam in power.

Now, since 9/11 we have allowed our nation to become the frog sitting in the cool water while our enemies keep putting economic, military, and social "firewood" under the pot we sit in.

England and France had the simple power and military might to crush Hitler in 1937/38 if only the will to stop him had over powered the desire to find a peaceful alternative.

Is history repeating itself?

So now let us push on with our liberty and make ourselves a new Dream.
Now do I know what that new dream should be? No. I'm not that type of visionary. But I'm willing to listen to someone who may have something to offer.
So what dreams do you have to offer me and the Nation?
I beg to differ; we once had the opportunity of liberty and through complacency of the citizens it was lost.

Therefore, the dream is STILL liberty (especially for us here in NJ). Is liberty enough to unite us all? Obviously not, there are those who wish to restrict ones liberty (on the left and the right).

I tend to agree with most in this thread, it takes an attack on our nation to unite us all; but then after a short time this breaks down again.

The recognization of the illusion that's called statism.

See! you already agreeing that we are disagreeing. There is so many views that make each individual so different to each other. And people don't agree on everything, in fact there is probably more disagreement then agreements.

I'm sure there is...and there's PROBABLY money in it, too, with the right attorney...There's ALSO a support group for chronic procrastinators, but they keep putting off their regular meetings...

George Washington, who is considered the father of our country, advised against political parties. See George Washington, "Farewell Address" (1796). The rest of our so-called "founding fathers" had no hesitation to choosing sides.
