Jagger own's lots of properties and has always had a home in London, his neighbours on Cheyne walk in the past included John Paul Getty Jr, who he was friends with. Jagger still spends time between homes.
I am also sure he could receive excellent cardiac treatment and surgery in Europe, indeed there are very good state and private hospitals in the UK and Europe.
Of course he has a house in London.
But right now today he lives in NewYork City with his girlfriend and their baby.
UGH.........And of course there is great treatment all over the world...but why would you travel the world when you can stay home.
To suggest it means that there isn't treatment good enough elsewhere is irrational.
AND -- none of this supports the argument against better health care for ALL Americans.
The USA does have some of the best doctors int he world. Most Americans don't have access to them unless they have gobs of money.
If you get some comfort knowing the best doctors are in New York City when you live in little town middle of nowhere USA -- good for you -- it does nothing for me.

For once we agree completely. American arrogance is the root cause of many of our nation's issues. Only American medicine can be good. Only the US way of doing things is right. Forget that countries like Norway, Sweden, and Finland are out living us, in spite of their socialized medicine.

It is irrational but it's also irrational for the OP to use this to try and attack what he calls socialized medicine.
I didm't see Prince Philip fly to New York when he wanted heart surgery, no he went to Papworth, a leading NHS cardiac hospital in the UK.
If you read my post, you could see I pointed out the problem is access.
However, it clearly wasn't an immediate surgery need if he hops on a plane in Miami to go to NYC. If it were he would have had it done in Miami. He had the time and choice to go anywhere else.
He chose not to do the surgery in the UK. The US simply has better hospitals than the UK. Period.
The flight from Miami to New York is about 2 hours and Miami also has excellent hospitals too.
I figured his doctors recommended which hospital for him given that he lives in NYC and will recuperate there instead.
Why would he go back to England if he doesn't have too? He can afford to have his surgery here.
Many factors go into where the rich decide to have their medical treatment.
But their actions have little to do with defending one healthcare system over another.
Why didn't Jagger go to LA -- I'm sure there are great heart surgeons there......
Because he doesn't primarily live in LA. He has a home there but his primary residence -- the place he is calling home -- is NYC.
It's not complicated
Frustrating stuff, eh? It's never ending with these types driven to attach the "socialist" name to something they know nothing whatsoever about, as long as it serves to support their indoctrination. Pavlov would be proud.
Isn't it a long flight from Miami to New York? He isn't a US Citizen, in theory he could have easily flown back on a 9 hour private flight if he is already taking the time of flying from Miami to New York for the surgery.
I think the fact of the matter is that the US has some of the best doctors and hospitals in the world. The problem is, not everyone has access to it.
17 of the 20 best hospitals on earth are in the US and most of the top 100 are in the US as well.
It’s a three hour flight so much shorter than flying back to the UK.
He’ll fly private and likely have medical staff on board.
