They do. Look at what's happened to Virginia in the last decade.
True - to a degree - but much of it is Virginians themselves changing. I know at least two families, one the ultimate "confederates" and the other a Texas native who has spend most of his life there.
The Texas native is very far left (a vietnam vet who was a heli commander) ......and the Virginia native is showing pics of his multi-racial family on FB.
These things tend to make one more liberal and progressive.....or at least thoughtful.
If liberals don't like the politics in red states...
If Trumpies want to run their home states into the ground, I say let them. It's not my concern how much they screw over their own families and neighbors. They will have to answer for it themselves some day.
Unfortunately the Koch brothers are there rubbing their hands together waiting for the dumbass class to give them another political trifecta. I have to admit, they've done a pretty good job of fooling enough of us so far.
There is an irony to MAGA and the notion that we should arm teachers......
Is that where the USA once was and considered great when teachers were armed........
I find it sweetly endearing, in a breathtakingly naive sort of way, this liberal faith that would-be shooters won't be dissuaded by the fear of punishment or the threat of retaliation or the weight of moral tradition, but will be stopped by a "Gun-Free Zone" sign.
If they did move there, in general, their beliefs would grow more conservative over time. Vice versa for conservatives moving to blue areas. It's called conformity and it's one of the most powerful forces in the lives of human beings. Possibly the most powerful.
Born and raised by conservatives in the rural deep south, held liberal viewpoints while there. Moved to the Bay Area viewpoint stayed the same... quality of life skyrocketed.
There is no person or entity named "Texas". It's not a monolith.
Rick Perry has bragged, tho, that he offers low wages and other incentives (less requirements for health care, cheap immigrant labor, etc.)....to try and get corporations to populate Texas.
Texas is the next Colorado. Don't worry - TN. will be perhaps among the last 5 holdouts.
Probably. The Hall Tax (the income tax on dividends and interest) in Tennessee will be down to zero/fully repealed on January 1st, 2021, making Tennessee the eighth full no state income tax state.
They go to where the money is, and they selfishly support policies that benefit them. Just like everyone else.
