Forty percent of the country accept a crude ignorant boor as president. I'm sure they couldn't care less about the rule of law, or they would care about Trump's corruption.

I don't know if bad is the word but I lost interest by the mid 90's. Pretty difficult to top books like the Shining or The Stand. The only ones I picked up afterward were the final books for the Dark Tower series and they weren't anywhere near as good as the earlier ones.
