The mid-century cooling appears to have been largely due to a high concentration of sulphate aerosols in the atmosphere, emitted by industrial activities and volcanic eruptions. Sulphate aerosols have a cooling effect on the climate because they scatter light from the Sun, reflecting its energy back out into space.
The clean air acts introduced in Europe and North America reduced emissions of sulphate aerosols. As levels fell in the atmosphere, their cooling effect was soon outweighed by the warming effect of the steadily rising levels of greenhouse gases.

According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the world's volcanoes, both on land and undersea, generate about 200 million tons of carbon dioxide annually, while our automotive and industrial activities cause some 24 billion tons of CO2 emissions every year worldwide.
Again, AGW is the oppostie of valid science, as it ignores the most basic concept of the scientific method. What other area of valid science has an equal amount of academic fraud, data manipulation, and statistical errors? If engineering was allowed such "lattitude", all the bridges, buildings, and transportation modes would fall down or blow up a week after construciton.
How would you know? You wouldn't know valid science if it walked up and bit you on the nose. Aren't you the one who doesn't understand why Mars is colder than Earth? Any area of science may have isolated instances of fraud or errors, but this is very minimal in climate science. Or perhaps you could share some examples?
BTW, I see that your distrust of technology is reflected not only in distrust of climate scientists but also distrust of spell-checker.
During and after WW2, economies kicked into high gear, with massive outputs of CO2. Yet temps fell from their highs in the 1930s.
If CO2 is the "driver" of climate, which did temps fall over this 35 year period?
The year 1936 recorded the hottest thermometer readings of any year in the last 5,000. However, these days NOAA reports only its “adjusted” temperatures, which always seem to go only higher. In fact, the first surge of human-emitted carbon dioxide after World War II should have produced the biggest surge of warming – if CO2 is the control factor. Instead temperatures went down from 1940 to 1975.
