A dogs tongue is fairly abrasive, might be helpful to remove dirt or whatever.

Every dog I've ever owned had a hairy face. How were they cleaner? They never even showered.

Interesting.

Excessive facial hair is not that appealing to me.

I've had a full beard for the better part of the last decade. I also haven't gotten sick in the better part of the last decade.

Coincidence? I think not!

People need to get over this fear of germs. Most germs are good for you, and as long as you wash your hands after you go to the bathroom or handle raw meat, you'll be fine.

The bacteria found in beards is the same found on human skin.

Im trying to figure out why they needed a study to determine whether there was a risk of humans picking up a dog-borne disease from an MRI scanner also used for examinations by vets. And who funded it.
What disease can a human pick up from a MRI scanner that was previously used on a dog? Zoonotic diseases generally require contact like scratches, bites, body fluids, feces. Do they not clean these MRI scanners after each use, human or otherwise, have butt paper or sheets on them. How dirty are the MRI scanners.

So...are beards dirty germ magnets, or are men with poor hygiene also less likely to shave?
