Restaurants are adding a healthcare charge to customers bill. Good idea ?

All I can say is I won't be eating at those restaurants.

Chicago and NYC. Two places I assiduously avoid.

What if every business that was open to the public did the same thing ?
Every time we buy a product or service there was a surcharge for the employees healthcare. I'm not sure what to think about that but I don't see it as a way to keep healthcare cost down. The surcharge could be anything the business says it is.

We are already paying for employee healthcare cost in all goods and services that provide them.

The surcharge is BS. One of the most lucrative line of business is owning chain restaurants. We already pay their labor cost by having to tip 20-25%.

Yes, it's more a public relations statement than anything... If they embedded those prices (and they do) into the menu without telling you, it's essentially the same thing...

Sales taxes in IL are already absurd. We already eat out very little because once you pay the sales tax and tip its just too expensive. An additional 4%? I wouldn't even consider going there.

By the way, you guys just hate the poor, particularly the children. Millions will die because of your attitude.
