The total budget of the non-essentials should be equal to what was collected in the previous year. If you don't believe that it's the government's responsibility to cover the non-essentials then you don't have to contribute.
That would be interesting. How many liberals who are pushing for more "free stuff" would put themselves in the camp of "government responsibility" and voluntarily contribute?

My proposal is that EVERYONE pays a "contribution fee" of at least $100 no matter how little they earn. It's not much, but when you multiply it by the half of all adults who pay squat, we're talking about real money.
I'll bet you're a net taker. Those who run around complaining about liberulz and welfare while bragging on medicare and SS that they "earned" (not) usually are some of the worst.

They need to stop spending like drunken sailors.

(My apologies to the drunken sailors for using this analogy...)

I know plenty of GOP'ers that would gladly take advantage of such schemes, and do so while complaining about the liberulz.
If any were serious about it they'd be advocating for the end of all welfare/entitlements. How many GOP'ers do you know that want to abolish medicare, SS, disabilty?

A married couple with 2 kids can earn $60,500 and pay zero income tax. Hardly poverty level in most parts of the country.

Don't worry-when the Dims pass taxpayer-paid health care for all and taxpayer funded tuition for everyone-there will be no choice to make income tax much more regressive-like the European countries the left wants us to emulate. EVERYONE will have to pay more to fund the handouts.

Ok. Well, thanks GOP.

Why do you vote for them, and then complain about the end result?

You should move to a blue State id you feel your taxes are too low

Oh, I forgot. You dont live in a blue State, but complain about their taxes anyway. The sad truth is that you'll complain no matter what.

And with that income, they'd get a big subsidy on their health insurance too.
