1 million migrants times $11,000 per-pupil spending means about 11 billion dollars and possibly much morer will have to shifted to the migrants or the taxes will need to go way up.

60% of those million migrant children are expected in 7 states: CA, TX, FL, NY, NJ, Georgia, IL.

Luckily they'll filter right in.

Won't a bunch of special Ed teachers for them.

Well, fortunately the vast majority of school funding is at the state and local levels. Sanctuary states and cities want "migrants"-they can have them. And pay to educate them.

That $11,000 per student average is erroneous - that is the average cost of all students per year, not illegal immigrants in particular. Of native born, legal immigrant, illegal immigrant the cheapest children to educate are native born, the most expensive are the illegal immigrants. Even legal immigrant children cost on average $2,900/year additional (2015 figure) every year until they test out of ELL services. The children of illegal immigrants spend on average 4-6 additional years in ELL services than children of legal immigrants and are less likely to test out prior to graduation. Additionally, children of illegal immigrants are more likely to need remedial or special education services, even taking into account ELL deficiencies, than either native born or legal immigrants. By the way, just for clarification, the children of LEGAL immigrants are less likely to qualify for special education services than native born students and test into gifted programs at the same or greater rate than native born students.

You need to add a billion or two to your figure. And, this is a bill sent to the local governments, not the federal government. I don’t have an ounce of sympathy for place that has declared itself a sanctuary (City, County, State), but I do for places that are left holding the bill for someone else’s “feel good” stances.

With most of the posts here being snarky I guess some people don't see this as a problem?

What does a school system do when they are forced to educate illegal immigrant children? What if the kids don't speak English? Will Spanish speaking teachers be required for every subject plus extra aide to get these kids on the path to speaking English? All I see is it is going to cost A LOT of Money and where does that money come from? why the taxpayers in the district.

There is also a concern that no one has mentioned and that is that we don't really know who these kids are or actually how old they are. Would you want your 16 year old daughter sitting next to a 24 year old man in math class and he is hitting on her and asking her to the Prom?

This costly education problem is only the tip of the iceberg that the Dems are willing to steer America right into.
