New Mexico militia detains migrants at gunpoint until Border Patrol arrives

https://www.foxnews.com/us/new-mexic...patrol-arrives

The militia group, which calls itself the United Constitutional Patriots, said it is determined to monitor the border until President Trump fulfills his campaign promise of a border wall or until Congress enacts stronger legislation to make it more difficult for migrants to request asylum
1) Border Patrol does not want their “help.”

2) Their leader is a felon who has been arrested by the FBI. I guess he shouldn’t have called attention to himself.

Not what happened - and they passed as CBP

Yeah, not a good idea to impersonate federal authorities.

Idiots.

Haaar! Bragging about taking up arms against unarmed people, including women and children, and likening it to the founding of the country.....quintessentially American!

Two wrongs never made a right - not justifying -ANY - breaking of the law. Vigilante break the law - but you won’t admit it because you feel it’s justified. Sad state of affairs.

That is the idea of a militia and militias were how this country was founded. When the government fails to do their job, and those failures bring real threats to others (invasion of illegal immigration), expect to see the rise of more militias and unrest.

And just wait and see how nasty things get before the election!

It's not vigilantism.

When the state fails to uphold the law the oneous then falls to the citizens

This is exactly why the 2a matters. Armed Citizens are defending our border from criminals where our government fails to protect us.

The majority of this group is composed of veterans or retired law enforcement. They are trained and have a sense of duty and patriotism. When someone takes an oath to protect the Constitution and country the oath doesn't have an expiration date. It matters a lot to people.

They simply are making citizen arrests/ detentions and holding them until border patrol takes over custody.

They claimed to be members of CBP.

If they are so well within their rights, why the need to misrepresent themselves?

As ineffective as border patrol has been lately, they can use all the help they can get!!! They are in NO position to turn assistance away! LOL
