It would have been far more embarrassing to me to be seen as whining about the punishment than to have been called out for a dress code violation. Our "code" was that you had to laugh off the punishment, just the opposite of this case. That was a lot better for a number of reasons.

If the dress code is three inches, then they are too short. I didn't see anything wrong with them, however.

Just because you think this, doesn’t make it true. You obviously don’t work in public education.

I got sent home from a religious school back in the 70's because my skirt was too short. It did break the dress code.

I particularly like how she said she was treated like a *****...as if the teacher offered her money for sex or something.

Who shops at Walmart? That will put everything in perspective.

If you walk into a dump, you're going to find trash.

That is correct. I don't work in public education. I have, however, been an expert witness in several proceedings around public schools and their policies.

True, what's also true is that this girl is obviously not “extremely humiliated”.

I also, even at the advanced age of 65, see nothing wrong with her outfit (although I do agree that kids should follow school rules).

I wore mini-skirts rather than hot pants (raided my mom's closet, lol) in the mid-70's. And it was deemed perfectly fine. But kids should follow the rules, yes. And clothing manufacturers should make clothes in a variety of lengths, too. All I see in the stores are booty shorts, crop tops, etc. these days.
