Depends on which social identity neofeminist group you ask. [insert your own thoughts here regarding identity politics of body size and sexual orientation]

It's either offensive and demeaning, or financially smart and empowering.

This is an overblown issue. Pole dancing is actually a common form of exercise now. It would likely be a Physical Education course for one to two credits. I have done a few of these courses and they are interesting and a nice stress reliever.

As for what they did here, seems like a seminar related to being sexual and not being afraid of it. This article and the responses play into the myth that youth are sex-crazed compared to their parents.

1. This is a one-off event, of which there are dozens - and probably hundreds at a large school like UCLA - every day.
2. Most colleges require one or two not-for-credit PE classes to graduate.

You can't make this stuff up.

I guess I am trying to make sense out of it, which I probably shouldn't because it doesn't make sense. But it is as though these people want all of the "fun" and "benefits" of sexploitation... without the consequences of possibly being exploited or objectified.
I guess the left forgot that if you lead someone on, then that someone's going to step in it. Yeah, real prevention, all right.
