Prescient professor now predicts Trump impeachment - The Portland Press Herald / Maine Sunday Telegram

Predictor of Trump's victory now saying he'll get impeached in his first term.

I've been thinking this for at least a month or two leading up the election if he won.

Makes a ton of sense, when they control all of Congress, he's unpredictable and progressive, and has no experience in the office so they could get him in a compromising situation since he doesn't know better.

In addition, Pence is a dream for the Republicans, plus Trump is largely disliked by both parties and get Pence prepared, experienced for a 2020 run.

Interesting discussion, would be curious to see what others think about this playing out?

I personally think it'll be whether they can get what they want out of him, and if not, I would expect it to be very likely.

Like so much else being discussed on this forum, it's simply conjecture at this point.
A Clinton impeachment would have been a more real possibility, since there likely would have been a Republican majority in the House and Senate anyway.
As far as any Republican opposition to Trump goes, that seems to be evaporating quickly. Ryan is in kissass mode; Kasich and the Bushes are done anyway. Funny how quickly that environment can change once a candidate's victory is in hand.

One thing that stands out about this election is both candidates are the least unpopular candidates to ever run. Trump winning doesn't the fact he is still hugely unpopular.

I disagree Clinton is not a wild card in behavior Trump is a total wild card. If he continue with the behavior he did during campaign he likely will get impeach by a Republican party that have an off and relationship with himself. A Democrat minority that is completely at odds with him.

Be careful what you wish for. A Trump impeachment puts Pence in the White House. He is far right of Trump, and has his own agenda.

I would rather wait 4 years and hopefully have better candidates to choose from. They should have never done Bernie the way they did him. We could have had him as president instead.

Michael Moore called it for Trump being president and he also predicts Trump won't last a full term in office.

Even Clinton got impeached, removal not likely if the Republicans continue their control of the legislature. For that reason, he might not be impeached. My concern is that Trump might think he's the CEO when he doesn't have that much power, and it could get him in trouble.
