It's never been any 'tradition' for the President of the U.S. to congratulate any professional sports draft pick. The only reason why Trump did this time was because Bosa was a vocal supporter of him, and there's absolutely nothing wrong with that. No reason for him to tweet congrats to the first or third or whatever else pick.
Just such a perfect storm of silliness took place on Saturday, when TIME took issue with President Trump tweeting congratulations to #2 overall pick and noted Trump-supporter Nick Bosa, and not sending kudos to #1 overall pick Kyler Murray, “a black man.”
"He envisaged that the United States would achieve world hegemony"
"defined the role of American foreign policy for the remainder of the 20th century (and perhaps beyond)"
Perhaps a bit off-topic, but I had never looked up the history of TIME before...Deep State, for sure, if one truly exists!
"The publisher would advance his concepts of US dominance of the "American Century" through his periodicals with the ideals shared and guided by members of his social circle, John Foster Dulles, Secretary of State and his brother, director of the CIA, Allen Dulles"
So he congratulated a supporter. BFD. It shows that some people in the media have lost their minds. Especially if they make it about race.
