What terrorist attacks have Iran been part of? How many of the 9/11 hijackers were Iranian?
Aside from this fact, if we go to war with Iran we are going to lose.
Iran is a state sponsor of terrorism and has been involved in terrorist attacks in Israel, Yemen and other Middle Eastern countries. Hezbolla and Hamas are practically arms of the Iranian government.
They are extremely destabilizing in that region of the world.
The US may need to intervene at some point to help its allies. We haven’t reached that point yet, but it may be inevitable.
Maybe Trump won’t do anything about the situation in Iran, but the next president probably will.

When do we go after Saudi Arabia for it's state sponsored terrorism, which they actually carried out on U.S. soil and killed 3,000 American citizens, and not some attacks halfway around the world? Or doesn't 9/11 count to you?
Well, if anyone thinks a major strike against a country like Iran would be done with support of one carrier group, well...
Plus, there is no way on Earth the US would position a carrier group in the Persian Gulf if they were going to strike Iran. They would position the carrier in the Arabian Sea.

And America isn't a sponsor of terrorism? We didn't seem to have a problem arming Saddam when he attacked Iran. A war which took the lives of almost half a million Iranians.

And America isn't?

What allies? Saudi Arabia, the nation where most of the 9/11 hijackers came from, the one number sponsor of Islamic terrorism the world over. Or Israel, the worlds most disliked political pariah.

A land war on the Iranian plateau is unwinnable for the US militarily. Plus it would kick off massive social unrest here in America. A lose lose for America in every way imaginable.
We haven't backed the Saudis, we've sold then military hardware. What they do with it is up to them. And Yemen is a crap hole infested with islamic terrorists. Let them fight over there and leave us alone. Not my problem or concern.
DESERT STORM was backing the Saudis. Since 1972 the US has had an agreement to provide military support to Saudi Arabia in return of them accepting only US dollars in payment for the sale of their oil to any country. That's what DESERT STORM was about.
The US ran to Saudi Arabia when Iraq invaded Kuwait because it appeared that Iraq would roll on through into Saudi Arabia. That's also why the US retained troops in Saudi Arabia until after 9/11.

So Iran has been "involved" in terrorist activity in their own backyard.
OTOH, it's been Saudi radical Wahabbism Saudi oil money that has bankrolled and supported every Islamic attack in the West, every single one, and most Islamic attacks in Asia.

That is a lot of conspiracy theory stuff. Bin Laden was responsible for 9/11, not Saudi Arabia. He merely used Saudi nationals to carry out his work.
I'm talking about things that are actual reality.
