I think its more of an issue with the individual receiving the award, but you went another direction.
Tiger Woods is a tuff one to judge, was spectacular when younger, been screwing up for 10 years with drugs and women that were not his wife, wins 1 golf tournament and boom a Metal of Freedom. It does seem strange to me.

Usually the honor is bestowed upon those who have had a lifetime of achievements. Woods is still active in his field and has plenty of time to mess things up again.
I'm not saying he isn't worthy of it, just not at this time.

that's not what Krugman said. He acted like Trump giving the Medal to a sports figure was the crime here.
Trump just bought himself license to cheat (more) next time they go golfing.
If you are going to play with Tiger its not such a bad thing..of course for the Trump haters out there he could just have the Russians cheat for him.
