And what source do you have to say they did? Besides your conspiracy theorist Hannity, et al.

John Solomon was on Hannity tonight with more information.

FBI's Steele story falls apart: False intel and media contacts were flagged before FISA

The concerns were flagged in a typed memo and in handwritten notes taken by Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Kathleen Kavalec on Oct. 11, 2016.

Her observations were recorded exactly 10 days before the FBI used Steele and his infamous dossier to justify securing a Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) warrant to spy on Trump campaign adviser Carter Page and the campaign’s contacts with Russia in search of a now debunked collusion theory.

It's being investigated, is it not?

Who says "the Democrats" don't want it investigated?

Exacept the dossier wasn't the reason for the FISA, and was not an important part in terms of the FISA report, indeed the US had received concerns from other western intelligence agencies and the Australian Hgh Commissioner.

As for Steele, he runs a company (Orbis) that is an intelligence and investigative consultancy and will write a report on most matters providing you pay to have the work done. Steele uses contacts in Russia and other parts of the world.

Steele never expected his report to go public and only shoewed it to the FBI when he became concerned regarding the intelligence he was receiving fron his sources. Steele had previously worked with the FBI in relation to corruption involving FIFA, the world governing body in reation to Footbal (Soccer).

Either way, he is the supply of intelligence to clients and has no role in other than supplying intelligence from sources he has built up in certain countries.

There are numerous similar companies to Steele's in London and other cities across the world.

We have only Steele's say-so on that; so, it really is yet to be determined.

Steele's Orbis and any other similar company write reports all the time for clients, indeed Steele has an impressive office in London's Grosvenor Gardens.

Steele is not American and is free to compile intelligence and investigation reports in London based on the intelligence supplied to him by sources, Indeed Steele has done nothing wrong, whilst the FISA was mainly down to Western Intelligence Agecies voicing their concerns and indeed the Australian High Commissioner who also contacted US Authorities.

It's Britain's role in five eyes to operate signals intelligence in relation to certain Russian targets and any approach from the Trump Campaign in relation to such targets would have caused concerns, and the press later reported these concerns, and the fact that western intelligence aganecies had expressed concerns, indeed US Intelligence was even said to be slow to react.

Whilst GCHQ did not wiretap Trump "both US and UK intelligence sources acknowledge that GCHQ played an early, prominent role in kickstarting the FBI’s Trump-Russia investigation, which began in late July 2016. One source called the British eavesdropping agency the 'principal whistleblower'".
