Less government is precisely why these companies are charging outrageous prices for medicine. So no, we need more regulation in this area, and less whacko libertarian/anarchists saying we need to let for-profit pharma set prices on drugs that people need to live.

I have been here in US, and have never been quoted the price of treatment. Its always a surprise, and usually a shock, when the bill arrives in the mail. An ER visit last year cost around $4000, and I was there only for about 1 hr.

I think many Americans are use to asking up front now. They just can't afford to allow Doctors to prescribe treatment or give treatment without knowing the financial implications.
