I think it has more to do with Millennials being more liberal TBH.

Well, sure there will be - because voters approve it now, but they certainly put the bills in the future (electricity is incredible, let alone maintaining) on future voters who didn't approve.

We had a similar situation happen.....cheering for better and better lighted sports fields and, lo and behold, no one really told the voters about the future costs. Now those voters are stuck in the town because you can't sell houses easily when property taxes are off the charts.

Texans will wake up one day and say "hey, what happened to those reasonable taxes?".....which is all well and good if that is what future Texans want to. But modern stuff costs money...

We made a good argument locally and asked why the ice hockey team didn't get an arena and why did the swimming team get better pools? I remember standing in front of council and asking "Which sports do you bless?".

It's a valid point. But, again, as long as no one complains in 20 years when it's costing 10 million a year just to maintain it and light it...all is well.

Or young and educated human beings in general.

No one likes to think this is true, but human cognition heads south at about 30. There is a reason that most all great things (Einstein, etc.) came out of people in their 20's.

Scientists have a saying which gives a bit more latitude- that being that nothing was really every discovered by someone over 50. While there are exceptions, the chart heads far downhill from about 30.

Maybe that's why our generation said "never trust anyone over 30"????

I had the chance to deal closely with one of the most innovative and advanced tech companies in the world today. The average age there was 26. Average!
