I have no problem with NAFTA 2.0, there were minimal changes. I think it is good to have recourse for non-performance.

So I'm not sure why you are parroting memes.

Contracts normally have a "non performance" clause of some sort.
It might not be so simple as implied.
Maybe by opening the deal it leads to an end of the agreement.

Trade deals should be constantly updated and negotiated. Change happens over time and no good deal will ignore that. As soon as one agreement is reached another should be started to make improvements and address anything overlooked in prior agreements. Move the ball forward, and there is no end zone to reach that says game over, unless one team leaves the field of play. No deal is ever going to be perfect from the start but as long as both parties are willing to sit at the table perfection can be pursued.
Pass a good deal and work to make it better should always be the goal under any good trade deal.
Take China as example: There never was any reason to trust them but we did at the suggestion of those who were for trade with them at any cost. Once the deal with China was made they left the field of play. They did whatever they wanted to until Trump came along.

There really should be a minimum mental age limit required on threads.

That's exactly what the Dems are doing. Glad you agree. If everyone has to intention of following the deal, then adding repercussions for NOT performing as agreed should be a non-issue. And yes, it probably isn't as simple, none of this stuff ever is.

The whole thing for China was not JUST for trade at any cost, though it's a huge market, and trade would be a big part.

We wanted to steer them towards Capitalism - better to have them with a higher quality of life and not our ACTUAL enemy. Thing is, we didn't do the appropriate planning on our side in regards to the changes we wanted in China.

Comrade Putin is loving all the business Comrade Trump's tariffs have delivered to him. Russia farmers are raking in the money. Do you think for a moment that if the tariffs end China will come running back to American farmers?
Comrade Trump is certainly making Russia great again. MRGA.
