I’m concerned that as more Americans embrace socialism that eventually we’ll be heading on a path of chaos, deprivation, poverty, suffering, and death!

Well our young people mistakenly believe western Europe is socialist so I would guess most are just saying that they would favor something like Denmark or Sweden which are capitalist with a large social contract.
9 in 10 embrace some form of socialism. 4 in 10 is a joke and an estimation worthy of ridicule.
Again, “Americans are addicted to big government” is the adage, and the adage is spot on.
Republican, conservative leaning Trump supporting farmers are lining up for another round of the “billion dollar agribusiness handout”....courtesy of their Orange Hero. These are the same lobsterheads that were joining the Tea Party during the Obama years and derided Hillary Clinton as a socialist back in 2016.
So really, I’ve got no patience for this anti-socialist clarion call.
America is supposed to be land of the free. But with socialism, people can never be free. Should be a sign that Americans don't have their priorities straight these days. More concerned about what's on TV vs what type of future they are passing on to the next generations in line.

Most of Europe is STRONGLY socialist. Denmark (where I was married) and Sweden are at the forefront of Democratic Socialism.
Describing them as “capitalist with a large social contract” is your attempt at being charitable because those nations are European.
If Nicaragua or Ecuador were to propose enacting the exact same social Democratic framework for themselves, you’d scream to the high heavens that we need to send the CIA down there and overthrow the communist regime.
You know...like most of you did in response to Venezuela’s experiment.

Like the future boomers are depriving from younger generations? Just to have a nicer home or a newer car more often?

If Americans are distracted, then people with your viewpoint should feel extremely lucky. Because I swear to you that if Americans ever wake the hell up and realize what a cruel joke has been played on them, it’ll be YOU GUYS and the oligarchs that you love so much, that’ll be in trouble.
Americans don’t have their priorities straight? B.S. To the contrary. We prioritize quite well on a personal level. We’re just too distracted to see what fools we’re being played for in the big picture.
Baghdad is not more important than Birmingham. Riyadh is not more important than Raleigh. Jerusalem is not more important than Jersey City. Instead of crying about “socialism,” you need to be decrying the $6 trillion dollars pyssed away on losing wars since 9/11 while the President puts us on the precipice of another losing conflict.

The future doesn't look good, I can tell you that.
