How in the **** does any US city let that happen? Especially one of the richest cities in the nation. What kind of incompetents do they have for administrators?
They are only paper rich, not real wealth. Real estate prices are at unsustainable prices. Obama's era of helicopter money and QE helped prop up asset values while most of America, particularly workers, languished. Once it comes crashing down, California will be left with scenes like these, poop mountains, illegals, and useless liberals who don't know how to change a flat tire, or much of anything else, without the government holding their hand. What a disgrace of a state, and what a disservice they have done to their residents.

Except, this topic is on LA, not Louisiana. No one is pretending like Louisiana is a particularly desirable place to live, although I would much rather live there vs California.

Every city/county has either a department of paid trash collectors or a private contracted company that collects trash. Where are they for 40 hours a week?

You can thank democrats for the demise of Detroit. I will never forgive democrats for what they have done to Detroit. Thankfully, I do not live in the city. The suburbs are actually quite nice, people are happier here than California I believe, although I would never step foot in Cali for the same reason I don't eat out of the toilet.

Rat-infested piles of rotting garbage left uncollected by the city of Los Angeles, even after promises to clean it up, are fueling concerns about a new epidemic after last year's record number of flea-borne typhus cases.
Even the city's most notorious trash pile, located between downtown LA's busy Fashion and Produce districts, continues to be a magnet for rats after it was cleaned up months ago. The rodents can carry typhus-infected fleas, which can spread the disease to humans through bacteria rubbed into the eyes or cuts and scrapes on the skin, resulting in severe flu-like symptoms.
The NBC4 I-Team first told Mayor Eric Garcetti's office about the piles of filth in the 700 block of Ceres Avenue in October. At the time, he promised to make sure trash doesn't pile up like that.
