Again Because of what the city council said. It wasn't one person. If you actually read even one article you'd know that.

Again "The San Antonio City Council decided in March to ban Chick-fil-A from the city’s airport because of the restaurant chain’s history of “anti-LGTBQ” comments and actions."

Don't deflect from that like you've been doing.

Trevino spoke for the City Council. “With this decision, the City Council reaffirmed the work our city has done to become a champion of equality and inclusion. San Antonio is a city full of compassion, and we do not have room in our public facilities for a business with a legacy of anti-LGBTQ behavior,” Treviño said according to ABC.

Don't deflect from that like you've been doing.

So the City Council is lying? Or maybe you just can't read. LMAO Why don't you explain to everyone here why Chick-fil-A was banned.

I'll wait.

So you have no proof that anyone besides Mr. Trevino held such an opinion and that Mr. Trevino's opinion was the basis for the decision by the 11-person legislative body. You're merely making a baseless assumption.

Thanks for confirming.

I think that Trevino was "grandstanding" to appeal to his voting base when he made that comment in the same way that Brockhouse was pandering to his base when he brought up the CFA deal up to another City Council vote to pander to the conservative religious base that supports him. I still think that progressive mainstream politicians should word their proclamations carefully because there is always the religious base who gets riled a up over anything in Texas. It is irresponsible to think otherwise.

Trevino grandstanding to appeal to his voter base sounds about right. I can agree with that.

And yes, your last sentence is absolutely correct. Although the cities are full of diversity and northern transplants, people forget they're still in Texas once they leave them.

Cities and municipalities should have the right to do such things as long as they aren't unconstitutional.

And it's up to the SCOTUS to determine Constitutionality in the end.

The SCOTUS might want to interview someone who eats chicken in the House Judiciary Committee

If he has a supportive voter base then its not one persons opinion, now is it ?

Better get the story straight and stop burning the fuse at both ends.

This is not about smaller or bigger government, it's about holding government hostage:
Quote:
Religious freedom has been much in the news as the Trump administration has rolled out policies providing an earthly answer to the prayers of the Christian Right.

...RD asked Samantha Sokol of the legislative affairs unit at Americans United for Separation of Church and State to compare the 20 models bills of Project Blitz with the bills they track and she found that 71 bills introduced in 2018 (or carried over from the 2017 state legislative session) are based on the model bills or are similar in intent. Of the bills tracked by Americans United [see bill descriptions in side bar]:
  • 23 fall under the National Motto Display Act
  • 8 are based on, or similar in intent to the Bible Literacy Act.
  • 10 are similar in intent to the First Amendment Defense Act
  • 7 are similar in intent to the model bill seeking state versions of the Religious Freedom Restoration Act (RFRA)
  • 4 are similar in intent to the model Child Protection Act.
  • 8 are based on or similar to the Preserving Religious Freedom in School Act.
  • 6 are based in part on or similar intent to the Clergy Projection Act.
  • 1 are similar in intent to the heterosexual marriage resolution;
  • 1 are similar to the Teacher Protection Act;
  • 1 are similar to the Student Prayer Certification Act
