It seems like it to you and that's on you. My assumption isn't baseless, that's just something you made up.
Lets try this again and see if you get it.
A handful of control freaks is trying to ban a business because they don't like it's politics. I can't dumb it down anymore than that.
Texas has some of the highest property taxes and home insurance rates in the country. We are closing in on very high sales tax. Wish the lege would spend some time on those things. Last session they spent all their time on where people peed, now this. Chick Fil a didn't ask for their help. Since they are the most profitable per unit fast food chain, bet they didn't need it, either. The First Amendment will work just fine.
They aren't assumptions, do you know anything about the case we're talking about? The San Antonio city council openly blocked a business from moving forward with plans to build a location in the SA airport because of who the business chooses to financially support and their perceived religious standings. This isn't some big secret, the city council was very proud of blocking this from moving forward.

Since when does the opinion of one person represent the basis for a decision by an entire legislative body?

You're clearly lost here, this isn't an opinion. The San Antonio city council voted to block a business from moving forward with previously approved plans based on that business' political and/or religious standing. That isn't an opinion, it was elected officials abusing a private business' rights.
While maybe not tehnically illegal (as cities are creatures of the state), it is quite frankly awfully authoritarian and mighty hypocritical coming from a party that loves to preach about small government.
When I need to learn about the importance and proper execution of the right to freely associate I always turn to a ruling by a governmental agency for help.
Those folks really know how to respect the individual's natural rights!
Leading the way all right - in Energy use (which equal pollution), in uninsured residents, in illegal immigrants and in low wages.
That is an outrageous and idiotic slander. The illegals (i.e., uninsured) are in Texas because of leftwingers like you who forced them on us.
