It's in The Constitution and these pieces of worthless garbage refuse to recognize it.

“Some members of the Trump foreign policy team seem to be openly hoping to provoke Iran into war,” Udall said in a statement ahead of the vote. “Fortunately, Congress is a co-equal branch that has the sole authority to declare war – so we don’t have to sit around and watch this administration spiral us into another endless conflict in the Middle East, built on the failed ashes of the Iraq playbook.

A war with Iran is an easy way to get points for the next election.

Worked for Bush. They’ve used that trick for centuries.

Works for every POTUS, Obama, Clinton and Carter included. In fact, where "unauthorized by Congress" hostilities are concerned, Democrat presidents kick the GOP's arse.

You weren't around for Iraq? Oh dear, the conservatives just basked in it. "How can you speak disparagingly of the President when the country is at war? Don't you remember 9/11? Why do you hate America?"

Of course, this is only an ironclad principle as long as the president has an R after his name.
