I agree with this. Open borders or high quality of life for citizens. It's one or the other, and I don't know why Dems don't get it.

Republicans support policies that lift people (Americans at least) out of poverty. We want to create new higher paying jobs by reducing government overregulation and renegotaiting unfair trade agreements so other countries are no longer benefiting at our expense and jobs can return to the US. Democrats are okay with jobs being taken by illegal aliens and with other countries in a dominant position over us. They support the birds and teh fish and the spotted owl over American workers. They are okay with illegal aliens getting housing before Americans.
Eliminating safety/environmental regulations won't increase the average worker's wages. Just look at working conditions and wages for factory workers in places like China, Russia, and Bangladesh

They get it perfectly; however, the conditions of the poor are not their concern at all.

Every sane Democrat would welcome the illegals as statistically 75% of them would vote for the Democrats. Illegal immigration is the way to secure power for the Democrats.

As for the poor, you ask? To hell with them as every good Democrat will tell you.

the homeless and the poor would be part of that, as would a multitude of other things. So I couldn't vote in the poll.

I am more of a 'give them a fish they eat that day. teach them to fish and they can eat every day' believer though.

Maybe won’t increase the wage but sure as hell they can hire more employees with the extra money.

I am more of a believer of “if you want to give people fish, give them the fish you have caught, not taking mine at gunpoint.”

Sure it does. 50% of the people paid no federal income tax while the rich is paying 2/3 of the federal budget.

I'm sure that if we got single payer, a national sales tax would be instituted. Everyone pays sales tax

GOP needs a consistent strategy. If you don't want to support social programs like welfare, Medicaid, after school programs, child care, etc., okay I get it, but don't get all sanctimonious about stopping abortion. Many poor women get abortions so leave the laws in place.
