I think it would be more appropriate to think about this. Austin, Texas. Austin has a population twice as large as Kansas City. Austin's murder rate is about 2.57 murders per 100,000. Not bad for a city with about 965,000 people. So far in 2019, Austin has seen 12 murders. 34 people were murders in 2018 in Austin. Kansas City and Austin are both Democratic cities in otherwise conservatives states. Austin is far less violent. In fact, Texas and Missouri have a similar percentage of Blacks in their states, but Texas has a much lower murder rate than Missouri (and Texas has 3 cities with 1 million or more people, with a 4th one on the way, Austin).

The city of Atlanta has 58 murders so far. Atlanta has a similar population number to Kansas City, but it's less violent. Atlanta doesn't even crack the top 10 for violent crime. Kansas City, strangely does. And this is considering that Atlanta used to be one of the country's murder capitals.

The whole point is this. This thread was started as a "Democrat vs Republican" thing. I can prove that political party affiliation has little to do with the murder rate. Oklahoma is more Republican than Texas is. It's as Republican as Nebraska is. It's murder rate is higher than both Texas or Nebraska.

Omaha has some violent neighborhoods as well. I'm not sure how much this size except one city is a hell of a lot more violent.

North Omaha is pretty violent. However, when you look at who is most likely to be murdered in Omaha, it's the same in Republican Omaha as in Democratic Kansas City. Of 30 people murdered in Omaha in 2017, 17 were Black. Blacks were 56% of Omaha's murder victims. 13.7% of Omaha's population, a majority of the victims.

What % of the killers are black? probably the majority like in most other big cities.

good luck with that when you figure in the Democrat controlled Chicago/Detroit/St Louis.

But that's the same ol' blame game. Nothing being done because people are afraid of anything that must be done. So, things will stay the same.

Sioux Falls, Fargo, Lincoln don't have the issues of St. Louis and Kansas City? Wonder what could be reason?

Lincoln has had 1 homicide (population 287,000), while St. Louis has had 61 homicides with similar population with 302,000 people.

Having spent time in the two there is a huge difference between the two cities that I have felt immediately.

Maybe it's time for all these liberal Democratic crime-ridden third-world cities to consider a Republican like Omaha did.

Omaha officially has 469,000 people, while KC has 492,000.

10 pages of argument based on a false premise by the OP. (Page one from the Trump-base playbook: State a lie, and then get everyone debating on a false premise.)

Fact: Omaha Metro is less than 1 million and KC metro is nearly 2.5 million. The premise of this discussion is a lie.

In Republican-led Omaha, Blacks are still the majority of those being murdered and committing murders. Sounds like this isn't a partisan issue. Tulsa, Oklahoma has a murder rate not all the far from Chicago's. It's ran by Republicans. So is the entire state of Oklahoma. Oklahoma has one of the highest Black homicide rates in the country (and Blacks are 7% of Oklahoma's population).
