Well let's see; which country didn't foment a coup to usurp the democratically elected leader of a country at the behest of major oil companies, thereby giving rise to org's like Al Queda as the predictable response?

Which country didn't invade Iraq on the pretext of finding WMD thereby giving rise to even more mid-eastern repugnance for the west?

Which country didn't funnel arms and training to the Contras?
U.S. involvement during the Nicaraguan Revolution - Revolutionary Cuba

There are many more such activities on behalf of more than one nation on the list of those suggested as "doing good" but strangely enough the nations that tend to leave the rest of the world alone..... thereby perhaps doing far more good ....aren't on the list.

Go figure..on an Americentric forum board...whodda thunk it?

Yeah I know, I'm being facetious. I'm making a point about the uselessness of a poll that doesn't even include the UK, Canada or Australia.

The thread is "what country does the most good in the world"

And the choices are: USA and a load of random countries you apparently decided on.

And surprise, surprise the USA wins.
The poll is not representative of anything when it doesn't even include all the other westernized countries.

Your list doesn't even include any part of Australasia, so it doesn't even fulfill 'each part of the world'

It's a purely biased poll in which you want to the USA to come out top.
Which, let's face it would be biased anyway even if presented with the facts, since the majority of respondents will be American

Oh of course. They definitely deserve it for their service.

Americans think they do the most good in the world and the rest of the world thinks they are the greatest threat to world peace. Somebody is going to be losing ground here.

None of the above. I'd vote Switzerland. Unlike almost all of the countries in the poll (yes, including the US), they're good at not antagonizing other countries/starting genocides/slavery/or engaging in extremism.

Is this a trick question? US supplies more foreign aid than any of those selfish countries that care more about their citizenry- imagine that. But, the US also intrudes excessively into other countries' affairs and relishes being the world's policeman.
