Ilhan Omar violated campaign finance rules, investigation finds, as more questions about tax filings arise

Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., repeatedly violated state rules when she used campaign funds to pay for personal out-of-state travel as well as help on her tax returns and must reimburse her former campaign committee nearly $3,500, Minnesota campaign finance officials ruled Thursday.

Additionally, conservative commentators pointed out that the Board's report revealed Omar and her current husband, Ahmed Hirsi, filed joint tax returns in 2014 and 2015, when Omar was reportedly married to another man.

Perhaps she thought her disregard for the law would garner her faster acceptance in Congress. Her level of theft and tax evasion though is still in the minor leagues by Congressional standards though. We'll see how fast she accumulates wealth far beyond what her income is capable of through normal means. Then we'll know if she has what it takes to be a Congresscritter.

When caught there should be repercussions but for those who get caught, $3500 seems pretty small time.

Trump even argued that Campaign Finance violations shouldn't even be a crime. I disagree but my word doesn't mean much.

That may be why Campaign Finance violations are rule violations and not criminal.
Violate a rule shame on them !!! Violate a law and it just depends on who you are what will happen !!!

Equal justice is old fashion. Undercover and behind the curtain justice is the new fashion.

Maybe we should call it the Peek-Boo Justice system !!!
