Good for them,

On his lunch break, the deputy was picking up an engagement ring, which he'd had sized, and the manager stated that no firearms were allowed on the premises.

He's now looking for a new job.

If they want to make political statements on the job they always risk termination.

Wow. That made zero sense for the store manager to do that.

I normally don't like the whole "backlash firing" thing but frankly in this case I'd have fired them not so much for the incident itself but wondering just how stupid someone would have to be to do what they did.

Unless they're like a deranged anti-gun type (separated from the more reasonable ones) or on drugs I cannot fathom someone being that dumb and getting the job in the first place.

A jewelry store should be happy about a uniformed, armed sheriff being in their store. Free security!

UGH This is a classic example of a good guy with a gun V a bad guy with a gun and some do gooder that is afraid of guns not being able to tell the difference.

If that is store policy, no guns, then one would think an exception could have been made to a uniformed officer but that would be too much common sense.

I wonder if the store does get robbed if it would be store policy for the responding Police to leave their weapons at the door?
