An investigation by Minnesota’s Campaign Finance and Public Disclosure Board into Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN-05) found she violated campaign finance laws dating back to when she served a single term in the State House of Representatives from 2016-2018.
But conservative Twitter quickly uncovered a more shocking detail in the report: she filed joint tax returns with a man she wasn’t married to. The report states that Omar filed joint tax returns in 2014 and 2015 with Ahmed Hirsi, even though she was married to Ahmed Nur Said Elmi from 2009-2017.

As a result of the investigation, Omar must personally pay almost $3,500 to her political campaign and a $500 civil fine, the Minnesota Campaign Finance and Public Disclosure Board ruled. The nearly $3,500 fine totals the campaign funds Omar illegally spent in 2016 and 2017.

In 2002, Omar says she applied for a marriage license with a man named Ahmed Hirsi, the father of her children and the man she publicly refers to as her husband, but the couple never finalized the application and was never legally married. The relationship ended in 2008.
Omar says she legally married Ahmed Nur Said Elmi, a British citizen, in 2009. The conservative Power Line blog alleges the man is her brother and that it was a potential sham marriage to help the brother with immigration into the United States.

Omar says she and Elmi divorced in their faith tradition in 2011 and he moved back to England. She says the pair is in the process of getting legally divorced.
In the statement, Omar confirmed she is currently married, in her faith tradition, to Hirsi and the couple is raising their family together.
All that aside... with regards to US laws, she was never married to Hirsi - yet she filed joint taxes with him, and has been found guilty of violating the law and fined.
You got two options:
Crap or get off the pot.
In other words unseat her via election or violation of rules or tuff cookie and move on.
The attention from the Right for Omar and AOC is amazing. I don't hear their names outside this forum, and I shouldn't, they are not my representatives.

Um, im confused as to what you think the MSM is hiding ?
she used 3000 dollars over a 3 year period to travel to New York,Boston, Florida, and DC to either accept awards,campaign for other candidates, bring awareness to an issue.
She is ordered to pay it back, and more specifically define some things from previous campaign filings.
so, 3.500 in repayments. 500 in fines. totaling 4,000 ish dollars.
