Grover Norquist wrote a book called "Starving the Beast" back in the eighties. The goal of the book was to ultimately squeeze out the social programs that allow seniors and the poor almost literally to survive. The following graph shows how spending is already out of control. Keep in mind that the House of Representatives has been in Democratic party hands for three (3) out of the last eleven (11) years. So the spending authorizations from the House have been mostly Republican.

The source of the following graph is in the lower right hand corner.

If we lose control of interest rates like we did in the early eighties. The efforts by those who are following the Norquist blue print will play out.

The problem isn't seniors, who've had to pay into the system to be eligible for SS and Medicare, and Medicare STILL costs seniors monthly premiums, deductibles, and copays. It's all those age 64 and below on means-tested public assistance programs that are the problem. 49% of all US births/year are paid for by Medicaid, the free health care program for the poor. 70% of those born poor will never even rise to the middle class, ever. They'll remain poor and dependent on public assistance programs for life. It's not financially sustainable.

That the largest debt more than any other President COMBINED was under Obama, especially in his first term. Totally UNPRECEDENTED. (a term Obama LOVED to use daily about himself)

Keep in mind we owe probably about half the debt to ourselves by taking out of SS and other future money commitments. This started happening when Ronnie the Ray Gun was President. This is purely a republican plan.

You can't balance the budget nor pay down the debt. Under our current system, doing so would markedly reduce the circulating money supply and precipitate a depression.

Did you ever wonder why global interest rates remain so low now?

Wake up- you can't balance the budget under our federal reserve system. This merry-go-round will not end well, but it can keep going for decades.

TARP was passed under Bush.

This is is a bit disingenuous, or you just don't know how it works over here in the US.

Congress approves the budget that leads to a deficit. Majority of the spending during Obama's first term was allocated during Bush's term (primarily to help prop up the post-recession economy).

Take a look at the last budget requests in each President's last year (Bold indicates the request was an increase over the previous president):

Donald Trump (R) - $1.314 trillion (2019 budget)
Barack Obama (D) - $672 billion
George W. Bush (R) - $1.632 trillion
Bill Clinton (D) - $133 billion
George H.W. Bush (R) - $347 billion
Ronald Reagan (R) - $255 billion
Jimmy Carter (D) - $90 billion
Gerald Ford (R) - $78 billion
Richard Nixon (R) - $17 billion
Lyndon B. Johnson (D) - $6 billion

We're in a boom now and our liberal president is still spending like crazy.

Obama used two TRILLION dollar "stimuli" to payback his political cronies like Public and Private sector UNIONS for getting him elected. He incurred MORE DEBT than any previous President COMBINED. It made TARP look like a library fine. Get real.

The dems controlled the WH the Senate and the House yet did nothing but INCREASE both.

How many "balanced budgets" has the dem controlled House passed going all the way back to clinton?

Most of the so-called "Stimulus" money went to fed agencies which became part of their base. With the dems in charge we had more "Continuing Resolutions" then ever before. Some agencies get an automatic INCREASE every year. These increases base INCREASED their budgets EVERY YEAR.

And the fact that Trump is even more liberal in spending than Obama, is amazing, but true.
