The left wants equal outcomes, regardless oF individual ability, intelligence, motivation, or effort. When my liberal area was debating whether to require the "set-aside" workforce housing units required in a new apartment building to have the same granite and upscale finishes as the market-rate units, the liberals argued that "poor people deserve granite and stainless steel appliances just as much as richer people."
You people don't even interact with conservatives due to your stupid micro-aggressions so wtf would any of you know about the lack of progressiveness amongst conservatives. Because drag queens can't read to children in the most distasteful appearance imaginable to provide more shock value to your fellow morally bankrupt pissants that vote Democrat? That's so damn offensive right? Oh why can't we dress like monsters, it's not fair!
I was a steelworker for 35 years and it`s a good bet that I`ve interacted with far more conservatives than you do. Obama was wrong when he said these people cling to guns and religion. What they cling to is guns and racial hatred. The rest of your post is incomprehensible.
Wow. Just wow. If you want to illustrate the divide between left and right in the United States, all you need to do is reference this thread.
So far, from leftist posters, we've heard calls for health care for all, fair and just labor law, a liveable planet, and wages you can exist on. These are things one can bring before the national and state Congresses. If they pass, fine; if they don't pass, that's fine too. That's how a republic works.
And from the rightist posters, we've heard that the left wants communism, "free stuff," and "unimpeachable power and control." I very much doubt that any Congresscritter would ever introduce a motion calling for the US to go communist, or to introduce a bill that would give the Democrats "unimpeachable power and control"--to do so would be unconstitutional, I'm sure. At any rate, what the Right seems to think what the Left wants is pie-in-the-sky stuff; things that cannot be logically or constitutionally provided, by any congress.
In short, the Left wants stuff that can be done. The Right is arguing that the Left wants stuff that cannot be done. Honestly, can you both not just meet in the middle, give a little to get a little, and carry on?
Far Right Christian Taliban - Rightwing Christian Taliban - Hardline Republican - Moderate Republican - Social Democrat - Moderate Democrat - Corporate Democrat - Communists
80% of the vote would go to the Moderate Republicans - Social Democrats - Moderate Democrats
Then the Far Right Talibans and Communists could hang out and complain about nobody liking their ideas.
Trump wants to take people back in time, to the good ol' days of the 50's maybe? We can't go backwards, times change, technology, jobs, people. We can only adapt to the changes and change ourselves to circumstances. Having a mindset of "going back" adds to people's inability to adapt.
I think most of us would agree that as a general rule, conservatives are comfortable with things as they are, whereas most of the issues favored by the progressive advocacy would require action by the legislative branch and/or the public sector in some form.
So I'd like to ask the guys and gals over on the other side of the divide what's most important to them, and how they would attain those goals.
And also, as with most of us here over on thee right side of the split, are there parts of the broad-spectrum conservative ideology you can live with?
lol No Conservatives are not comfortable with the way things are. They want smaller government. Preservatives are comfortable with the way things are.
