Are we one nation united or just a bunch of interest groups. Plus IMHO it would be embarrassing to have every nation on earth think we’ve become a fruit to loop land.

No we can’t have them think we are Fruit loop land since we already have a crazy President and a bunch of nuts following him.

Quite frankly, no unofficial flag should fly from our official flag posts. This has nothing to do with the pride flag to me, which I note is free to be flown elsewhere on embassy grounds.

Plain and simple, it isn't an official flag.

Why not fly it? I don't see any issue with putting it up for a week of gay pride as long as it is below Old Glory.

Permission should not have been granted in 2016, it is a political flag, not an official national flag.

It is at the discretion of the U.S. ambassador of the country the embassy is in. The embassy in Israel flies it every year on Pride day since at least 2013 or so. I was working in Israel at the time, I saw it flying over the embassy. The streets were lined with the flags from the city, so I didnt think the one on the embassy stood out too much to be honest.

If the SecState disagrees, an ambassador can still choose to fly it. Might not be politically smart though.
