Has the terrorist threat been over exaggerated or have we been just lucky so far.

Neither, I don't think our problem with terrorist has anything to do with illegals crossing the border. Illegals may be drug trafficers in some cases, some are criminals in other ways, but that doesn't make them terrorists.

Terrorists remain a big threat to the US, especially home grown.

We have now seen people from around the world coming across our border to claim asylum and we have no choice but to accept them. A very small percentage actually qualify for asylum so what happens to the rest? Are they sent back? Do they self deport or do they skip the hearing of their case and disappear into America?

It is very easy to imagine that a small group of terrorists could walk across to claim asylum and they then disappear.

It is very easy to imagine that a small group could sneak across carrying a dirty bomb to be brought to Times Square.

We all saw what 15 determined terrorists could do on 911 with a evil but brilliant attack. We all saw what 2 terrorist losers could do with homemade bombs at the Boston Marathon.

Don't think for one minute that isis hasn't thought about it.

We should all fear that it is only a matter of time before there is an attack from a group that stole across the border but the story of how they got into America will no doubt be buried because the narrative is that only kind women and children are crossing looking for jobs.

We lock our doors at night to protect what we hold dear and we should be locking our border.

I'd consider this a major terrorist attack.

From historical evidence, the home grown terrorists are radicalized via the internet so it isn't folks coming across the borders that is the biggest threat to the USA now.

Statistics on border crossing at the ports of entry and all along the border have shown a drastic rise in children and families seeking asylum. These families are not likely to be terrorists.

Given the attention on the southern border, I find it hard to believe that any terrorist group would be so naive to try that particular border to get into the USA. I suspect they are more sophisticated and with online radicalization and the ability to get into this country as they did for 9/11...the southern border is not the threat Trump suggests.

I suppose one reason why the "immigrants are terrorists"-type issue is often overlooked here is because many if not most terrorists acts here are done domestically.

I don't think that most illegal aliens are terrorists in the sense that they are out to harm us physically but they are economic terrorists. However, there are those from known terrorist countries that are slipping into our country right along with them, even the former FBI Director has said so. I'm sure they are plotting our demise and will strike at the right time just like the 9/11 terrorists did.

Some of those domestic terrorists have been influenced and converted by these outsiders who want to see our demise also.
