It is the job of the "it's his/her turn" candidates. To take the beating for the party before they sail off into obscurity.

Indeed. It's sure a good way for the Democrats to flush away Biden once and for all.

Hardly. I have confidence that a majority of Americans see Trump for the steaming pile of garbage he is.

So says the media, but in every polling held about Trump ever, both he and his appeal have been underestimated, sometimes grossly.

And this thread is about Biden's tendency towards the flip fop, which is so well documented at this point that it's common knowledge to even casual observers.

A weather vane candidate will never, ever unseat an incumbent in this country, and it does not matter which party is which, what the situation is, etc. Two incumbents (informally, since I always consider Ford to be Nixon's 2nd term) have been unseated since Hoover - and that was Carter and GHWB, who were themselves weather vane incumbents, and they got beaten by popular candidates with actual platforms.

The current Democrat platform for 2020 is 25% Some Kind Of Socialism and 75% Not Trump. In Biden's case, his 25% Some Kind Of Socialism stuff is all coming from the other candidates and Dems in the House and Senate, not him. He waits for stuff to poll, sees if it polls well, then tries to claim it as platform plank. He's a weather vane.

The only two candidates actually offering stuff you haven't heard yet are Tulsi Gabbard and Pete Buttigieg. Nobody else is offering anything but mish mashed socialist lite pablum and lots of Not Trump. Two problems there. 1) Neither Gabbard nor Mayor Pete is getting within a light year of the nomination, so says DNC machinery already beholden to The Swamp, and 2) Not Trump as the main platform plays to the number 1 strength of the greatest political counterpuncher in the history of US politics. The Democrats are currently hell bent to provide Trump with all the ammo needed to destroy them and also help him aim his shots.

And they'll take a weather vane, "his turn" candidate to that arena against a pure lion with no f***s to give. The media never reports on Trump's strengths, and it is almost laughable, given how often he issues reminders.

Joe Biden Denounces Hyde Amendment, Reversing His Position
By Whitney Hurst, Sarah Stein Kerr and Natalie Reneau

Joseph R. Biden Jr., the presumed front-runner for the Democratic nomination, denounced his past support of the Hyde Amendment, saying he could not support a measure that bans federal funding for most abortions.
After two days of intense criticism, Joseph R. Biden Jr. reversed himself Thursday night on one of the issues most important to Democratic voters, saying he no longer supports a measure that bans federal funding for most abortions.

As recently as Wednesday, Mr. Biden’s campaign had said he supported the measure, known as the Hyde Amendment. His decision to change positions illustrates the intense pressure he faces as the presumed front-runner for the Democratic nomination for president.

Scary. This man would be 80 years old in his second year in office.
Oh come on, Joe just forgot where he stood on Hyde!

Don't worry his 'best friend' and the media will cover for him as if it never happened.

Nice guy who is sacrificing himself to make who ever he chooses as VP the real president. Look at the biden ticket to see who will be president if Biden is elected.

Actually dems, fighting for their existence, will run michelle Obama at the last minute. Saves her from attack by the repubs to keep her fresh and unvetted by media and opponents.

Biden has got a long long political history just rife with tidbits of all sorts, flip flopping on positions.

The guy is a typical douchebag politician putting his finger in the air and going with the opinion of the day.

Trump is going to just stomp Biden if he wins the nod. Not a trump fan, but I can just see him brutalizing the guy.
