This is what Gavin Newsom said in an anti-middle America tirade.

I have been in both Kentucky and California. Kentucky had great roads compared to California. Kentucky doesn't have massive amounts of pollution like much of the cities in California do. Kentucky has much lower taxes and better infrastructure.

Both states sadly have crime issues, but in a city like Louisville and Lexington it is much easier to move to a nice area then it is for people to move to a nice area in LA or the Bay Area.

“There's no Alabama dream, no Kentucky dream,” Newsom told the party faithful. “There's only the California dream, attainable and aspirational"

I am not surprised the Democratic party has gotten extremely arrogant and snobby. What I find interesting is how a couple working at manufacturing facility in Kentucky or Alabama can easily afford a 4 bedroom house and yet people in California who make $100,000 have to share apartments or settle for a run-down 1 bedroom in LA or the Bay Area.

What, I find interesting is Lexington has a higher per-capita income than LA.

The mortgage payment on a 4 bedroom, 4 bathroom house in Lexington is about $1,000 dollars less a month than a 1 bedroom in LA.

$1,231 estimated mortgage on 4 bedroom, 4 bathroom home in Lexington

Median rent in LA: $2,250

On the $60,000th dollar of taxable income:

California: 10.3% (9.3% income tax plus 1% sdi tax)
Kentucky: 5%
Alabama: 5%

More lunacy from "Any Twosome Newsom".

There are cool places in CA, but they are not in the cities. However, he has probably never been to KY, as there are some very nice scenic areas in the eastern part of the state.

Sure thing...the rest of us just sit around dreaming to be in those filthy faeces laden streets!

The California dream has turned into a nightmare. Big time.

I’ve lived in California and I’ve lived in Kentucky. I’ll give him that the weather is better in California, but other than that, I’d rather live in Kentucky by a mile. The people are friendlier, the cost-of-living is lower, the taxes are lower, the air is cleaner, the traffic is less chaotic, the population density is lower, crime is lower, and the government is far less intrusive in people’s lives. I’ll take the crappier weather any day.

Ridiculous housing costs, usurious taxes. Typhus, crap on the street.

Sounds like a California nightmare.

People should quit trying to make themselves look better by putting others down. Many do this. It's unfortunate.

How is the California dream attainable? Even earning a six figure salary, you are going to be working a very long time to attain anything. Move to Kentucky and enjoy the early retirement.
