A male contraceptive pill has passed the initial phase one safety tests in New Orleans. It has demonstrated effectiveness in decreasing sperm count while preserving libido. Good news! Hopefully it will prove safe and effective.
You still have to take the pill. Nothing changes the fact that it's still the woman who gets pregnant.
Birth control for man is great. a man should make sure his sperm doesn’t impregnate a woman without his intention. it will help millions of men avoid paying unwanted child support and help reduce abortions. The question is if available will they use it? Doubtful imo
If a woman relies on a man to use bc, and she doesnt want to be pregnant, she is an idiot.
Would be nice for men though, if they dont want to be trapped into paying endless child support, or a marriage they dont really want.
I will bet you money that you'll see some radical feminists screaming that a "male birth control pill" is somehow "misogynistic". Lets face it, we have a not-insignificant number of women that see getting knocked up as a meal plan. Between child support and government handouts-some see it as a way to avoid little things like working for a living. Granted, that is a pretty small percentage, but not non-existent. Good to see that men might have the same access to simple, convenient contraception that women do.

It reduces sperm counts? Sorry, but that's not going to work. A healthy man may deliver as many as 200 million of them at one time. Let's suppose this pill eliminates 99% of them. How many women would feel safe from pregnancy, if they had two million sperm in transit, all working hard towards a single goal?
The men won't go for it either, as many will think it's a plot to reduce their virility and masculinity. And it very well could be just that. Very few men will have a passive attitude, when that might be at risk.
The old joke about what the people are called, who practice the "Rhythm Method", may apply to those who might depend on this pill. They're called, "parents".
Give it time! They'll find the male birth control pill has those many "unwanted side effects" like breast enlargement, loss of libido, erectile difficulty, gay daydreams! The list may go on and on!
And let's not forget that last line of the TV commercial:
Ask your doctor if Nokidadine* (Nospermadine HCL) is right for you!

We've been on the verge of having a male contraceptive pill for years now. Hopefully it works out.
