Under an agreement between Gov. Gavin Newsom and Democrats in the state legislature, low-income adults between the ages of 19 and 25 living in California illegally would be eligible for California’s Medicaid program, known as Medi-Cal. The deal emerged as part of a broader $213 billion budget.
Newsom has to be one of the biggest scumbags alive.

They are worrying about Trump while putting themselves further in the red monetarily?

“While it’s not all we sought, it will provide a real tangible difference for people, especially for those around and below poverty and for middle income families who don’t get any help under the federal law,” Anthony Wright, executive director of advocacy group Health Access, said. Indeed, a family of four earning as much as six times the federal poverty level -- or more than $150,000 a year -- would be eligible to get about $100 a month from the government to help pay their monthly health insurance premiums.

To pay for part of it, the state agreed to start taxing people who don’t have health insurance. It’s a revival of the individual-mandate penalty that had been on the books nationwide under former President Barack Obama’s health-care law until Republicans in Congress eliminated it as part of the 2017 overhaul to the tax code.

That is insane.

Making more that $150K annually, get aid from the state.

They are on a totally different planet than the rest of the country.

That should make the taxpayers of California REALLY happy. I know that not all Californians are far-left nutjobs. Every time I go there for business, the people I talk to come across as pretty normal and complain as much about taxes, the idiots running their cities that have allowed the bums and druggies to overrun their cities and the insanity of their laws and regulations. So I have to wonder-what will it take to get the decent, hard working people of CA (those that are left) to throw the losers out of power that cater to bums and criminals, at the expense of working people?

The bad part is every time the idiots in Sacramento pass more stupidity, we get another batch of working, productive people (or recent retirees) moving into Idaho. Could be worse-at least most of those coming here are doing so to get away from what CA has been turned into.

As long as only state funds are used and not federal money.

Be honest, would it make a difference if federal funds were used?

I doubt it would to most people, they may cry and whine a little bit about it, but in the end, they are not willing to take action to stop it, in other words, they will sit back and comply.

It matters because federal spending can be funded by inflation and federal taxes cannot be avoided.

A state that spend a lot of money on things people don`t want, will be punished by taxpayers and business leaving the state. Right now California is fine, but when the next recession arrives I expect another exodus and a budget crisis.

Good. Hopefully more illegals will move from Texas to California.

I'd rather California residents pay for their healthcare. I'm tired of my tax dollars being used.

I hope not. I want Californians to get hammered with more taxes.
