So much of that 9-11 money is being fleeced. People with elective sinus surgery are getting pay outs of close to a million. Along with about 150,000 a year tax free after working for a little over 10 years.

Why do these so called victims get all the money? What about all the other victims in this world? Stewart is grandstanding. What about the people who worked in our power plants to provide us with the fuel and electric? They are getting exposed to toxic work enviorment for decades....not a few months.

One of the few times, I agree with him. Btw I hardly recognized him, but like all of us we change when we get older.

Very powerful statement and very true.

Jon gets one right every once in a while, and did in this case, but for the most part he's a douchebag. He's largely responsible for the rise of the modern "politics by mockery" which has led to a lot of the hostility and political derangement we see in our present day political climate. He was highly partisan and swayed people by demeaning those who disagreed with him. Our modern day media uses the same tact, minus the humor. It's not leading us to a good place, and one good day doesn't erase the damage he's done to our national conversation.

I read that the reason why the chamber looked empty was because the chairs were set up for the entire house judiciary committee which is 40+ members and this hearing was only for the Constitution, Civil Rights and Civil Liberties subcommittee made up of 14 members. I also read that two members of that sub-committee who were absent are co-sponsors of the bill Stewart is pushing.

I appreciate Jon Stewart’s passion here but I suspect the bill will easily pass. Has any member of congress actually come out publicly against it?

All the posturing, all the screeching, all the BS we hear and see every single day - when something is real, you know it. That was real. The first real that I've seen in a very long while.

He was born in NYC but raised in NJ and I think still lives here or at least has property here if he doesnít spend most of his time here. Like New Yorkers a lot of New Jerseyans were greatly affected by 9/11 and are as into 9/11 related efforts as New Yorkers are.

I didnít know he was on this cause and I think itís awesome. His speech to Congress was very passionate, you can tell he really cares.

Sadly, Congress seems to care for little but its own well being.

Default Jon Stewart scolded Congress Tuesday for failing to ensure that a victims' compensation fund set up after the 9/11 attac

but you bet the left will make sure there is money for illegal aliens health care and free college.
