I propose a new political party: the Anti-Stupid Party.
The party will mainly fight against the stupidity of the LeftRight. The LeftRight are the people who divide everything into “liberal” and “conservative” and end up supporting some really stupid stuff, just because “their side” supports it.
The Anti-Stupid Party platform:
1) Stop illegal immigration. Every other country on earth is allowed to enforce its borders without being called racist or fascist, so why not the USA? We can’t provide free stuff for every poor person on planet earth. Thinking that we can is just Stupid. Continue to allow legal immigration as we have for 200 years.
2) Stop making authoritarian and anti-democratic China into the next superpower. That’s just stupid. Stop sending them our technology and making them rich by bad trade deals.
3) Stop thinking that we can bring back good paying manufacturing jobs with tariffs. That’s just stupid. Automation will destroy any jobs that are brought back to American shores. We should definitely put tariffs on China for geopolitical reasons, but those tariffs will not bring back jobs. The manufacturing will to go from China to other slave-labor countries like Vietnam and Mexico. Not good for American workers, but good for preventing China from ruling the world.
4) Instead of manufacturing, millions of blue collar careers in construction will become viable again, because the Anti-Stupid Party will crack down hard on illegal immigration and the companies that hire illegal immigrants. Robots will not be able to do most construction work anytime soon. Money that is currently spent on services for illegal immigrants will be reallocated to helping older blue-collar workers deal with the ailments they suffer from a lifetime of physical work.
5) The Anti-Stupid Party will stand for tough campaign finance laws and anti-corruption laws, modeled on laws that exist in the other rich democracies. Corruption should not be legal in America. Legalized corruption is just stupid.
6) The Anti-Stupid Party will accept the overwhelming scientific evidence for human-caused climate change. Ignoring science is just Stupid. Coal power plants will be gradually phased out as they age, and be replaced with the next generation of nuclear reactors. Coal miners will be given federal assistance until they find gainful employment elsewhere, including relocation assistance if they need to move. We will NOT abandon our miners to a lifetime of poverty and misery.
7) Federal money for nuclear reactor research will be restarted (Clinton stopped it in the 1990s). That was Stupid. New ways of processing nuclear waste will be explored. Research will commence on reactor designs that cannot melt down. The USA has the opportunity to become a world leader in new nuclear reactor technology. Lots of new jobs will be created, and plenty of blue collar workers will be needed. Former coal miners will be encouraged to apply. New reactors will be located in coal mining areas to help the struggling communities there.
8) The Anti-Stupid Party will avoid all foreign wars unless it is necessary for self defense. There’s nothing to gain by bullying the rest of the world and spending trillions doing it. That’s Stupid. We will avoid foreign entanglements as the founders intended.
